It’s Thursday, and that means it’s time for trivia.
The way we play is simple. We give you a scenario from a softball game. You tell us what call the umpire should make — if the umpire should make a call at all.
Here’s this week’s question:
Two outs, runners on first and third. The batter grounds the ball to second.
Instead of stepping on second for the easy out, the second baseman tries to run down the runner at first. The runner on third makes it home before the runner that started on first is tagged out.
What’s the call?

It’s Thursday, which means it’s time for our weekly softball rules trivia question.
Here’s how it works: We’ll give you a game scenario. You tell us what call the umpire should make, if the umpire should make a call it all.
Without further ado, here it is.
Runner on third; offense tries a squeeze play. The batter places a bunt on the third base line (oops!) and the runner gets caught in a rundown.
The runner heads back to third and the third baseman steps into the baseline to take the throw from the catcher.
The catcher throws too high, the ball winds up in the outfield and before she has time to turn and chase it down, the runner crashes into the third baseman. What’s the call?
